Ireland's electricity (CSO)

The electricity that Ireland's data centres buy from the national grid, metered by ESB Networks and published every quarter by the Central Statistics Office. Data centres took 23% of all metered electricity in 2025, up from 5% in 2015, and they account for 77% of the growth in the country's electricity demand over that decade. Every other customer class is nearly flat. CSO publishes one release a year, each June or July, covering the four quarters of the previous year.

Ireland limited new grid connections for data centres from 2022. Their growth slowed every year after that, so these numbers show what the grid allowed.
